EILEEN CORDERO—FRANCHISE OF THE YEAR!
For Immediate Release
Delaware Small Business Receives Top National Award. Just Between Friends of Middletown/Dover Named “Franchise of the Year.”
Dover, DE. – A small business from Delaware is receiving national recognition as Franchise of the Year for Just Between Friends Franchise System, Inc. (JBF). JBF is North America’s leading children’s and maternity consignment sales event.
Eileen Cordero has owned and operated the popular kids’ consignment event in Middletown/Dover since first being awarded a franchise in 2013. After years in the corporate world, Eileen, moved into entrepreneurship after hearing about Just Between Friends on The Today Show. In that time, the franchise has experienced tremendous growth. Twice a year, Cordero hosts a community event where thousands of local families can save money and earn money on items for their children.
At JBF events, local families sign up as consignors and sell the new and gently-used children’s items their families have outgrown or never used. They can earn between 60% and 70% of the selling price. This helps families declutter their homes and turn that “clutter into cash.” Families also have an opportunity to shop the JBF events where they typically can save 50% to 90% off retail on items they need for their children: clothing, shoes, toys, baby equipment, furniture, games and much more.
The independent judges who chose Eileen Cordero and her Dover event as the winning franchise said one key deciding factor is how she “used creative marketing strategies, including ChatBots and JBF Mystery Money to both create awareness and increase event revenue.”
The judges also stated Cordero’s commitment to serving her community as a factor in the decision: “This franchise has also given back to the community with the ‘Pay It Forward’ initiative, which has helped countless families, including the family of a consignor who passed away from cancer, a single mom in a domestic abuse situation, as well as supporting a local charity, ‘Forget Me Not Families’ and several other
giving back initiatives.”
When asked about her recent honor given to her at the company’s national conference in Plano, Texas, Cordero stated, ”I am honored and thrilled that the Judges chose JBF Middletown/Dover as the Franchise of the Year. This award truly captures all of the hard work that my husband Tony, our three boys, our team, our community and our charity have put into these events over the last five years. We have gained friendships and changed lives together. We will continue to create innovative ideas to help our fellow families buy and sell items at JBF. I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of our families in Delaware.”
JBF-Middleton/Dover will be holding two events at the Delaware State Fairgrounds this year—one for the spring/summer seasons and one for fall/winter.
